WHY NOW
2033 · the 63rd Shikinen Sengu
7 years until 2033.
Once every 20 years, the Shikinen Sengu hands on not only the shrine buildings, but skills, festivals, and the ties between people.
Tokiwakai treats these years as time to meet the next people who will carry the work.
WHAT WE ARE
Ise is the way in. Then we enter the work.
We make an entry point so young people can take part in Japanese culture at the actual sites, with the 63rd Shikinen Sengu as the starting point.
Learn about Jingu and the Sengu. Go to Ise. Enter a festival. Meet people who live there. Bring the next person with you.
Ise Jingu is not only buildings. Prayer, festivals, skill, and human ties have been handed on there over a long time.

Started
Began by serving at the Okihiki timber-hauling.
2026
Joined Kawabiki
With the Furuichi hauling group, we entered the Isuzu River and pulled the ropes. Monthly Tsuitachi visits and Tokyo gatherings continue.

Second Okihiki
On the Jingu calendar, the second Okihiki falls this year. Tokiwakai is planning a lecture and gathering on Ise culture, around 100 people.
2030
Keep entering the work in Ise.
After Okihiki, the Sengu calendar moves to the site-grounding rite (2028), the Uji Bridge crossing ceremony (2029), and the ridgepole-raising (2032). Tokiwakai continues the monthly Tsuitachi visits in Ise and the Tokyo gatherings, and joins a rite when a place is open to it.
